Movies

When I paint/do art, I always have a movie or TV show on.  The other day the hubs and I watched V for Vendetta, which is ABSOLUTELY amazing!  I cannot wait until the 5th of November to run a cool special, here is what will be on sale, until I do more of course, on November 5th.  A long time away?  Yes.  But....something you all can look forward to, for a ridiculously long time.  If you want them now, you can purchase prints via paxelart.com.  Or...you can wait til November 5th and get some prints on sale then :]

Thankful

So, before marrying the hubs I did art off and on, and never had the confidence to actually try to get my art out there.  Sure, I'd post some stuff on facebook, but as far as having a facebook page, a website, and trying to sell my art, no way was that an option.  Since being married my confidence had improved so much, and I'm finally able to chase my dreams.

I want to be an artist, for a career, not just a hobby.  However, that takes a lot of time, and quite a bit of money, and the husband is so supportive and willing to help out more, or set aside more money for my art business, and never complains.  I have no idea how I got so lucky, but dang, I certainly am the luckiest.

So...this is pretty much just a shout out to you, mi amor.  I love you, and I am so thankful for you, and how supportive you are.  Without you this would never happen, and I never would have started chasing my dreams.  Hopefully, soon, you'll start chasing yours.  I'm working really hard to make you feel like you can too.

Impressionistic Impressions

Impressionistic art . . . usually something that's not my thing.   But I've been trying to do something new so I figured I'd give it a shot.  Again I've fallen in love!  This style is very contagious and I'll definitely be doing more in the future.  Check some of them out, and don't forget to view all of my art at paxelart.com!

An Affair with Charcoal

So...I have hated charcoal for...well, forever.  BUTTT, I'm in a charcoal phase now.  I cannot get enough of it!  I'm still learning techniques with it, but I'm slowly but surely falling in love with it.

The scuttlebut

In November the hubs and I moved to a new apartment, so we actually have room to move around, and there is room for me to do my art - finally!  In our old apartment, where we lived for 11 months I did a total of two paintings, period.  No drawings, nada.  Since moving to our new place I have done at least 20 pieces - I love it!  And the hubs is so amazing with helping me have time to do them and not feel guilty for painting instead of, you know...doing the dishes.

My day pretty much consists of working, coming home, working on my website, promoting my art, whatever it takes, advertising, starting a crock pot meal or getting everything ready to cook food for the hubs and I to take to work for lunch and dinner, then sleep, and I do it over and over again.  On my days off the days are a bit different.  I only eat if the hubs brings me food, because I'm too encased in my art or working on my website.

I have hundreds of different art ideas, but not always the motivation to do some of my more ambitious ones.  If you have anything you think my style would be awesome on you should definitely throw it my way.

Do you have those days when you get feeling antsy, that you just have to get up and doing something different? Well, that happens almost every day for me, and art happens to be that I get antsy for. Art is what I love to do, and with all the different things I've been trying, I felt that I needed to share that with all of you!
